The Company You Keep
Dear Friend,
Surround yourself with like minded people. If you are the strongest person in your circle you may want to change your circle. That way you don’t lose your vision because of someone else’s sight. We all have those certain “friends” who as soon as you tell them about your dreams, visions or plans they usually respond 1 of 5 ways.
Why would you do that? If it were me …
Dead Silence. Followed by “whelp gotta go”
Hmph! Let me know how that works out for you.
Better you than me …. followed by a smirk.
They turn around and do everything you said you wanted to do

The company we keep matters at every age. The fact of the matter is the less you associated with some people the more your life will improve and the more you associated with other people the less likely you are get off course, or to be deflated or feel defeated. It is much better to go alone than in wrong company.
As it is written in my favorite book …. He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed ….. Proverbs 13:20
You must determine where people fit into your life for yourself and protect your purpose, as well as your peace of mind.
Not everyone has a right to speak into your life. Not everyone has your best interest in mind and not everyone is meant to travel along with you on your journey. You may find sometimes the same people that your trust, and the same people that you believe in and those people that are the closest to you will be the same people that will throw water on you when you are drowning.
Now on the other hand you will find people that are truly in your corner. Those who truly cheer for you, that are of like minds and sincere hearts. I like to call them “people who sit in your front row”. These folks will be a great treasure. So you have to make sure you treat people right, offer a good balance, be the company worth keeping and bring something to the table other than your fork. When you find good company, these are people you want to hold on to because they are few and far in between.

Who you spend your time with and what you spend your time doing tells you exactly what you need to know about the commitment to your purpose and your goals.
As a last reminder be sure to surround yourself with people you see greatness in, and those who see greatness in you especially when you do not see it in yourself. The company you keep matters because you become the company you keep. Choose your company wisely. “Get On Your Mark.”
