Mrs. Melton has over two decades of experience and direct service in domestic violence, trauma informed care and curriculum development.

Meet Simeaka Melton!

​

Simeaka Melton is a girl advocate, trailblazer, social responsibility agent, best selling author, the proud Founder of The Girls And Women Alliance & Dear Girls Academy Inc., and the creator, Executive Director of Dear Girls Camp and Curator of Note To Self a self care collections. Through self esteem building, decoding the illusions of body image, self harm prevention education, teen dating violence education, and life skills courses Dear Girls Academy, Inc.  teaches and mentors girls nationally. Simeaka, has also created The Girls and Women Alliance, a professional and social hub to celebrate and support women. The Girls and Women Alliance educates and provides to resources girls and women affected by trauma, acts of violence. Simeaka Melton is also co owns Hello Friday​ along side of her husband, as the Creative Director.

Among Mrs. Melton's awards and recognitions she has also been awarded the Top 40 Under 40 Award presented by Potomac Local News, The Most Influential Woman Award presented by Prince William Living Magazine, received The Own Your Power Award presented by Prince William County Minority Business Network Award, has also received The Small Business Award presented by Spectrum Circle, as well as been featured in the education edition of  Northern Virginia Magazine and has also recieved the Local Hero Award presented by Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Council .

 

Through The Girls And Women Alliance, Simeaka Melton has hosted an impactful and empowering annual residential summer camp that has served thousands of young girls for more than a decade. Dear Girls Camp is a summer time staple as well as a signature program within her organization. Between the girls who have attended, the volunteers and the parents Dear Girls Camp has been named not only "the best girls summer camp ever" but also the "best days of summer".

 

Simeaka Melton often says, “We all agree that it takes a village and it's evident that the village is in trouble! We are all the village, and we need all hands on deck as we rethink our responsibility to reclaim and rebuild our village!” As a social responsibility advocate, educator, and domestic violence advocate, she stands out because she delivers a transparent, no sugar coating in truth and love approach to the youth she serves.

 

Simeaka Melton is best known for her “doing it for the cause and not the applause” standard when it comes to her service to others. Mrs. Melton has nearly two decades of experience in self esteem building and youth development and has several years of training and direct experience in the fields of domestic violence, the effects of domestic violence on children and adolescent, child sexual abuse along with suicide prevention and human services.
